Sorry, our jewellery is fabulous and this item has now been sold, take a look at our other products in the Aries Jewellery / April Birthstone category or check out our recommendations below:

These one of a kind Mintabie opal and diamond earrings are handmade from solid gem grade white Mintabie opal with sparkling red and green flashes throughout. The colours pop out at you in any light and especially when the gems move or are rolled around in your fingers reflecting the light. Each Mintabie opal measures 6mm and there is a total of 1.58 carats of Mintabie opal used in total. Loaded onto solid 18k gold head pins, the opals hang from solid 18k gold chain that has been interrupted at intervals with hand wrapped natural black diamonds (four diamonds are used in total).

The black diamonds used in these earrings are guaranteed to be conflict free and are actually sourced from Australia (like the opals). Sugarpuss London does not support trade in 'blood diamonds'.

These Mintabie opal and diamond earrings can be considered an investment piece, as Mintabie opal has been rising in value by approximately 8-12% per year for the past ten years. Mining is getting expensive in Australia, meaning that production in certain claims has slowed down and the miners are having to charge more.

Pictures 1 and 3 show the opals taken with flash photography (best for showing colour play). Pictures 3 and 4 show the opals without flash (best for showing base colour). The opals look slightly grey in these pictures but are true white base, unlike our other Mintabie earrings which are on a cream base.

These earrings are fully hallmarked by the London Assay Office and stamped with Sugarpuss London's unique maker's mark ('SL').
