These ruby nugget earrings are handmade from two large well matched and incredibly precious Longido mined ruby nuggets. The total carat weight for these ruby nugget earrings is a staggering 10 carats.
Each nugget is exceptionally clean high grade material for completely natural ruby (untreated, heated or enhanced). Colour is the factor that most affects the price of rubies and these ruby nuggets are a delicious crimson colour, opaque with some translucence and brilliant lustre. As you would expect from entirely natural rubies of this carat weight and size there are a few inclusions/surface imperfections but they are not readily visible (pictures 1 and 5 well display these, as the pictures were taken with a macro lens). We would grade these rubies as SI.
Each ruby nugget has been hand wrapped in solid 18k gold and is sandwiched between two handmade 22k gold daisy spacer beads. These earrings are presented on handmade solid 18k gold ear wires with 2.5mm ball end.
