Wow. Three strands of genuine salt water pearls in natural shades of creamy white and pink. This is a fantastic price forsalt water pearls from the South Seas(the source for some of the most sought after pearls in the world). The pearls vary in shape/texture - the central strand is made up of pink oval semi-baroque pearls and the white pearls are more off-round baroque. All of the pearls originally hail from Kanya Kumari (on the southern tip of India).
For salt water pearls in this price bracket you would expect a fair few blemishes - we have hand selected these pearls from many strands and apart from a few minor growth rings and a couple of bumps in the nacre they are fine and lustrous - there are no pits/dents in the nacre and no brown spots. Overall we would grade these semi-baroquepearls at AA - AA+(and we are hard graders). The white pearls are approximately 5-6mm and the pink pearls between 5-7mm.
Because we selected these pearls from a great many strands we have lots ofsalt waterpearlsleft of lesser grade (both pink and white), if origin is more important to you than perfection and you are happy to put up with the odd chalky line or imperfection in the nacre, then we can make you a salt water paerl necklace or bracelet at much reduced cost, simply contact bespoke@sugarpusslondon.com for more details. Buyers please note, these are not Chinese or Japanese Akoya pearls but genuine salt water pearls from theseas surrounding Kanya Kumari.
