Traditional November Birthstone: Topaz is the traditional birthstone for November and the zodiac sign Scorpio.  Topaz is available in natural colours, such as pink, clear, champagne and 'imperial' (red/orange).  Topaz is also commonly enhanced for colour to achieve colours such as 'London Blue'.  Topaz is also available with a mystic coating which is a permanent enhancement created by a patented process of vacuum deposition.  Genuine topaz is a fairly costly gem, despite enhancements.  Beware of topaz priced at seemingly unbelievable prices, chances are you are being sold quartz.
