This Mintabie opal and Akoya pearl bracelet is a one off design handmade from 13.75 carats of genuine, solid, white based Mintabie opal with flickers of red and green from almost every angle (much brighter than shown). The opal is accented with a total of 2.4 carats of AAA grade raspberry coloured tourmaline and AAA+ grade natural white Akoya pearls. There are nine pearls used in the bracelet in total, with eight of the pearls measuring 6.5mm and the centre pearl a large 7.5mm.
The bracelet is finished with an ethically sourced (fair trade approved) black silver toggle clasp and rose charm. The remaining black silver was hand patinated in our studio.
This Akoya pearl, opal and tourmaline bracelet has been fully hallmarked by the London Assay Office and stamped with Sugarpuss London's unique studio maker's mark.
Please note, we do not use flash photography when photographing our opals. All of the gemstones used in this piece are of the finest quality and are guaranteed to be completely natural and untreated.
The Mintabie opal mine is now thought to be near depleted. Indeed, the opal in this bracelet was mined out over several years ago now and, as a result, can be considered an investment. You can find out more about Mintabie opal at Mineshaft. Mintabie opal has many advantages over other types of opal, as it is the hardest of all Australian opal. There are many testimonies to its increasing rarity all over the internet, including an interesting article at Outback Secrets.
