Dry Creek Turquoise Jewellery

Dry Creek turquoise is a highly precious form of turquoise that comes from the Dry Creek mine on the Shoshone Indian reservation near Battle Mountain, Nevada. Turquoise gets its color from the heavy metals in the ground where it forms. Blue turquoise forms when there is copper present, green turquoise when iron is present. White sacred buffalo turquoise forms when there are no heavy metals present, which turns out to be a very rare occurrence. The lack of any specific color consistency makes this stone distinctive and unique from any other turquoise. To date, no other vein of natural white turquoise has been discovered anywhere in the world, so when the Dry Creek mine runs out, that will be the last of it. Because this turquoise is so rare, the Indians have named it 'Sacred Buffalo' turquoise, and it is considered highly collectable material.

All of the Dry Creek turquoise used in our Dry Creek turquoise jewellery is guaranteed to be genuine turquoise, stabilised but otherwise unenhanced. Fake chalk turquoise or dyed howlite is sometimes passed off as white turquoise, so buyers should be aware of this when price comparing.  All of our Dry Creek jewellery items are guaranteed to be one of a kind (they have to be because we can so rarely get hold of this form of turquoise)!

Your luxury designer Dry Creek turquoise jewellery will come beautifully presented in a jewellery box with studio certificate.  Free UK Special Delivery is standard on orders over £100.
