18K Rare Solar Quartz Earrings

Stalactites are formed at the roof of a cave and begin with one drop of mineral-rich water. When the drop falls, it leaves behind the thinnest ring of calcite. Each subsequent drop that forms and falls deposits another ring. Over time, these rings build to create a stunning column of minerals.

These stalactite crystal slices are buds from columns of stalactite that took millions of years to develop deep within a cave. These slices are well matched but not perfectly, as each slice is completely individual. These solar quartz or stalactite slices have been handwrapped in sold 18k gold and suspended on handmade 18k gold ear wires. The earrings also feature two 3mm 18k gold solid beads.

Please note, one of the slices has a horizontal mineral deposit or interior fault and the price has been adjusted to reflect this, it does not effect the integrity of the gem or the polished finish on front and back. These solar quartz slices are very high quality examples of solar quartz, as the formation patterns are extremely evident. The pictures well represent the product and were taken with a macro lens.

These earrings are fully hallmarked by the London Assay Office and stamped with Sugarpuss London's unique maker's mark.
